Dow Jones Sustainability Index
FPL Group has been named to the 2009 Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) of the leading companies in North America for corporate sustainability. The DJSI North America selects the top 20 percent of companies in sustainability performance from the 600 largest companies in North America.

Carbon Disclosure Leadership Index
FPL Group in both 2009 and 2008 was named to the Climate Disclosure Leadership Index by the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), a not-for-profit organization that reports on the business risks and opportunities of climate change on behalf of 385 institutional investors with $57 trillion in assets under management. Compiled by PriceWaterhouseCoopers on behalf of CDP, the Climate Disclosure Leadership Index highlights companies within the FTSE Global 500 Index that excel at corporate governance in the area of climate change disclosure.

Global 100 Most Sustainable Large Corporations
FPL Group in 2009 was selected one of the Global 100 most sustainable large corporations in the world by Corporate Knights and Innovest. The announcement, made at the Davos World Economic Forum in Switzerland, marked the fifth straight year the company was included on the list.

Eye on Innovation
In recognition of the company’s leadership role in using low-carbon vehicles, FPL earned the 2008 National Biodiesel Board’s Eye on Innovation award for the early and substantive use of biodiesel, the 2008 National Association of Fleet Administrator’s Green Fleet Award, and the 2007 Council for Sustainable Florida Large Business Best Practice Award.

TreeLine USA For seven consecutive years, FPL has been recognized as a Tree Line USA utility. Sponsored by the Arbor Day Foundation in cooperation with the National Association of
State Foresters, the recognition is afforded utilities that demonstrate quality tree care practices, annual worker training, and public education programs such as FPL’s Right Tree, Right Place campaign.

Governor’s Green to Gold Florida Gov. Charlie Crist presented the state’s Green to Gold Award to FPL Group in 2008, the award’s inaugural year. Presented by Enterprise Florida, the honor is given to companies or organizations focused on developing green products and advocating for sustainable management of resources.

Fortune Most Admired Companies
FPL Group ranks in the top 10 among companies worldwide for innovation and for a record fourth consecutive year, No. 1 in its industry in Fortune magazine’s World’s Most Admired Companies listing. FPL Group also ranks No. 1 among its peers in the following specific areas evaluated: innovation, people management, use of corporate assets, social responsibility, quality of management, long-term investment and quality of products and services.

Edison Electric Institute
In 2009, the Edison Electric Institute presented its EEI Index Award to FPL Group. The EEI Index of shareholder-owned electric utilities is a peer group index that values total return on each electric utility over a five-year period, thus providing a benchmark for long-term financial performance. For the five-year period ending September 30, 2009, FPL Group was the top ranking large-cap company with a 90 percent return, which was also the highest return among all EEI Index companies.

Forbes Best Big Companies
Forbes magazine cited FPL Group in 2008 as among the 400 Best Big Companies in America, having met benchmarks for financial growth rates and returns, corporate governance, accounting standards and background checks.

Governance Metrics International awarded FPL Group its highest possible overall global rating of 10.0, placing the company in the top 1 percent of the 4,200 organizations measured. GMI congratulated FPL Group for maintaining what it views as best-in-class corporate governance standards. |

Ethisphere Most Ethical Companies For the third straight year, we were named to the World’s Most Ethical Companies list by Ethisphere magazine in 2009. The publication said this year’s list recognized “organizations that promote ethical business standards and practices by going beyond legal minimums, introducing innovative ideas benefiting the public and forcing their competitors to follow suit.” We also made the list in 2008 and 2007, one of only 44 companies worldwide to be recognized by Ethisphere for three consecutive years.
